Ingredients:
Egg: 2 T water, 2 T flour and 1/2 tsp baking power.
Breadcrumbs: Crumble 1/2 slice of bread, and mix with 1/4 c broken crackers.
Buttermilk: 1 c fresh milk and 12 T vinegar or lemon juice.
Plain Yogurt: Cottage cheese blended until smooth makes an excellent cup-for-cup
substitute for plain yogurt.
Baking Powder: For each tsp of baking powder, substitute 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/2 tsp
cream of tartar, and 1/4 tsp cornstarch.
Thicken Gravy: Up to 3 T of pancake mix. No more than 3 T.
Brown Sugar: 1 c white sugar and 1-2 T of molasses, mixed well with a fork.
This is so much better than commercial brown sugar.
