Ingredients: 4 pack of soft, buttery buns 1lb of SHAVED ham ½lb of sliced Gruyere Cheese (any soft, white cheese) 2-3 Tbsp mayo, sandwich spread, miracle whip 2 Roma Tomatoes sliced thin Black pepper + Kosher salt Olive oil or Beano's Sub Sauce *Optional* Sandwich Topping like Hoagie Spread Giardiniera Finely Minced Red Onion
Split your buns; spread sandwich spread of your choice on each bun. Place in preheated air fryer at 370º for 2-3 min until bread toasts up ever so slightly. If using an oven, toast them in oven at 375º, keep a close eye, you want buns golden brown and toasted, but not crunchy. Remove from air fryer; add one slice of cheese to each bun. Place in air fryer (work in batches if needed); air fry until cheese is melted. Every air fryer is different, mine took about 2-3 min. This can also be done in oven. Either cooking method, remove when cheese is melted. Carefully top each bun with shaved ham & ½ slice of cheese. Add 2-3 slices of tomato to top of each. Make sure these are thinly sliced, as you want them to toast up in air fryer. Drizzle a little of the Beano's Sub sauce on each tomato slice (or olive oil) then a sprinkle of salt & pepper. Place sandwiches back in air fryer at 390º for 4-5 min until they are all toasty. Remember, all air fryers are different, so check them often until you determine how much time yours needs. If using an oven, use broil setting for this, keep a close eye and remove when bubbly and toasted on top. serve open faced sandwiches with finely minced red onion on top & favorite Hoagie Spread
