4 cups peeled and diced potatoes (about 3-4 large russet potatoes)
1 small onion chopped
3 cups chicken broth
4 tbsp butter
1/4 cup flour
1/4 cup sour cream
1 1/2 cups half and half or heavy cream
salt and pepper to taste

Toppings

Bacon cooked and crumbled
Cheddar Cheese
Green Onions

Directions:
Directions:
Place potatoes, onion and chicken broth in crock pot.
Cook on low 4 to 6 hours or high 3 to 4 hours.
A half hour before you are ready to serve, melt butter in a medium sauce pan, whisk in flour, salt and pepper and cook until bubbly. Slowly stir in half and half. Cook until thick. Stir into crock pot. Cook for another 20 minutes.

Serve with toppings or if everyone likes the toppings stir into soup and serve.
