Ingredients: 1 1/2 C uncooked elbow macaroni 5 Tbsp butter , divided 3 Tbsp all purpose flour 1/2 Tsp salt 1/4 Tsp pepper 1 1/2 C whole milk 1/4 C cubed Velveeta 1 C shredded or cubed chedder cheese
*** you can use a variety of your choice in cheese*** Re; Fontina, swiss, Mozzarella , Chedder
2 Tbsp breadcrumbs (optional )

Directions:Preheat oven to º375
Salt the water & Cook macaroni according to the package directions. (if you are going to bake it , undercook the macaroni by a few minutes )
-In a large sauce pan, melt 4 tblsp of the butter over medium heat
- stir in flour , salt & pepper until smooth
- gradually add the milk and stir and cook until thickened .
-Reduce the heat . Add the cheeses and stir until melted and smooth
-Put macaroni and cheese sauce together in a greased baking dish and top with bread crumbs that were mixed with the remaining melted tbsp of butter
-Bake uncovered for 30 minutes
**** You can also eat it prepared on the stove top , once the cheese sauce is smooth , you can add the macaroni to the pot and stir until heated through and enjoy ! |
