Tomatoes:
2 jars Jovial crushed tomatoes - 18.3 oz
1 8oz jar tomato paste
1 cup water

Seasonings:
1 Tbsp Olive Oil
1 Tbsp Butter
3 garlic cloves, minced
2 tsp sugar
2 tsp. kosher salt
2 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried basil
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. marjoram
Pinch red pepper flakes

Misc.
1 Medium Yellow Onion cut in 1/2
2 large pieces of rind of parmesan

Directions:
Place the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste and water in large saucepan and bring to simmer.

Melt butter with the olive oil in skillet pan.

When melted add the minced garlic over medium heat. Cook 1 -2 minutes.

Add rest of seasonings and cook til fragrant. Add all of this to the tomato mixture in saucepan.

Add the 1/2'd onion and the parmesan rindsl

Simmer on low for 2 hours.

This is probably enough for 2 pies. Freeze the rest for later.
