1 cup butter, room temp
1 3/4 cups sugar
2 eggs
2/3 cups toasted sesame seeds
4 cups flour
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 cup water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, sugar and eggs until fluffy.
Stir in half of sesame seeds.
Mix dry ingredients in separate bowl.
Add alternately w/ water to butter-sugar-egg mixture.
Chill dough until stiff enough to roll: 1-2 hours.
Roll dough on lightly floured board into rectangle 1/8" thick.
Cut dough into strips 2 1/2" x 3/4" (pizza cutter works great).
Press one entire side into dish of sesame seeds.
Loop one end over at right angle making bow knot effect.
Bake on lightly greased baking sheet at 350º for 10 minutes or until light brown.

My mom was German, Scottish and English. She married my dad, who was Greek, and proceeded to learn to prepare Greek dishes for him. She used to say she was Greek by osmosis!
