1 lbs. ground beef
1 onion, diced
4 cloves garlic
3 carrots, medium size, diced
4 ribs celery diced
1 green pepper, diced
2 cans diced toms (14.5 oz each)
1 can tomato sauce (14.5 oz)
2 T vinegar
2 T Worcestershire sauce
2 T salt
1 t garlic salt
1 T black pepper
2 T beef bullion
1 T garlic powder
1 head of cabbage, sliced thinly
4 C water

1. brown ground beef, add onions and garlic and cook for 5"
2. add carrots, celery and green pepper and cook 5 "
3. add everything else and simmer for an hour or so.

Depends on size of bowls. I normally use large bowl as I use this as my whole meal

After it simmers for an hour or so, I taste and adjust seasonings. I find I often add more black pepper, vinegar or Worcestershire sauce.

The main ingredients are tomato sauce, beef and cabbage so those remain constant.
However, I always check my fridge to see if I have veg nearing the end of shelf life. If I have 5 wimpy ribs of celery, they all go in. Same with carrots, tomatoes and onions. I made this today and will serve for dinner and I have an aging zucchini so I'll slice some zucchini and put in bowls and spoon soup over it. I don't add to soup while cooking as it gets too mushy for me.
