Nonstick cooking spray
8 ounces bulk breakfast sausage

1 T snipped fresh sage
½ tsp onion powder
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp black pepper
2 7.5-ounce packages refrigerated biscuits

Directions:
Line a 3 ½ or 4 quart oval slow cooker with parchment paper, then with foil. Coat foil with cooking spray. In a large skillet, cook sausage over medium heat until browned. Add apple; cook and stir 2 minutes more or until apples begin to soften. Remove from heat. Stir in sage, onion powder, garlic powder and pepper; cool slightly. Shape biscuits into balls. Arrange half of the balls in prepared cooker, starting in center and working towards edges, leaving spaces between balls. Sprinkle with half of the sausage mixture and half of the cheese. Repeat with remaining balls, sausage mixture and cheese.
Cover and cook on high 1 ½ hours; give crockery liner a half turn, if possible. Cook, covered, 20 minutes or more. Using the parchment and foil, transfer bread to a wire rack. Cool slightly.
