"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain

Ingredients:
1 pound lean ground beef
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp black pepper
Nonstick cooking spray
1 pound prepared fresh or frozen pizza dough, thawed
1/3 cup ketchup
2 T yellow mustard
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

½ cup chopped onion
½ cup sliced dill pickle slices (optional)
4 slices bacon, crisp cooked and crumbled

Directions:
Coat a large sheet of foil with cooking spray. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough into a 14 x 11 inch oval. Transfer to foil. Ease foil and pastry into the liner of a 6 quart oval slow cooker. Fold down top edges of pastry to make an even crust that extends 1- 1 ½ inches up the sides. Spread ketchup and mustard over crust. Top with meat, half of the cheeses and onion and pickle (if using). Cover and cook on high 3 ½ hours, giving crockery liner a half-turn halfway through if possible. Sprinkle with remaining cheese. Cook 10 minutes longer. Turn off cooker. If possible, remove crockery from liner. Let stand uncovered, 15 minutes before serving.
