2 T. butter
1 c. sugar
1 T. flour
1 c. milk
1 lemon rind and juice
2 egg yolks
2 egg white beaten stiff

Directions:
Directions:
Blend the butter and sugar, then add remaining ingredients and pour. Pour into 6 cups. Set them in pan of hot water for 30 minutes. Moderate oven. (If I put in cold oven, make 350º F, keep 1 hour). When done, this makes a creamy custard underneath and a cake on top. Must be served in cups in which baked.

My mother was a wonderful cook, nothing fancy or highly spiced. Just very tasty, always colorful. She made wonderful meatloaf, liver and bacon, pea soup, etc. Molly (Also submitted by Martha.)
