¾ cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 egg
¼ cup molasses
2 ½ cups flour
½ tsp ground ginger
½ tsp salt
2 tsp baking soda
½ tsp clove
½ tsp cinnamon
Granulated sugar for rolling

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Cream together shortening, brown sugar, egg and molasses. Mix together dry ingredients. Stir dry ingredients into wet. Form dough into balls. Roll in granulated sugar. Place balls on lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes.
