1 Stick of butter
2 lb bag of hash browns
1 onion, minced
1 can Cream of Chicken soup
1 tub sour cream
salt and pepper to taste
Shredded or grated cheddar cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Melt buter in baking pan. Arrange hash browns in pan.
Combine onion, soup, and sour cream ( with salt and pepper); add a small amount of cheese and pour over hash browns.

Bake at 325 degrees for 45 minutes. Top with remaining cheese just before removing from oven to melt the cheese.
