3 eggs
1 c sugar
1 c milk
4 tbsp butter or margarine
1 heaping tbsp of coconut
1 tsp vanilla
1 heaping tbsp cornstarch or flour

Directions:
Directions:
Separate eggs and beat yolks.
Mix sugar, cornstarch and coconut.
Add 1/4 c milk to eggs then add sugar mixture and mix well, add vanilla and remaining milk.
Melt butter and add to mixture and heat in double broiler.
Pour into unbaked pie shell and bake at 350 degrees until firm.

Beat egg whites and add 6 tsp of sugar, mix until stiff peaks form. Put on top of pie and sprinkle with coconut then brown in the oven.

This was my mother's own recipe and, as we discovered after she passed away, it was my father's actual favorite rather than the chocolate pie she made on his birthday.
