"As viscous as motor oil swirled in a swamp, redolent of burnt bell peppers nested in by incontinent mice and a finish reminiscent of the dregs of a stale can of Coca-Cola that someone has been using as an ashtray. Not a bad drink, though."--Excerpt from "The Moose Turd Wine Tasting" by T. A. Nonymous

Directions:
Cut spareribs into individual pieces. Arrange in large roaster and broil for 10 minutes, stir and repeat. Drain the grease off (not down the kitchen sink-you know who you are!).

While the ribs are browning, combine all the other ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a simmer. Pour over the ribs and bake for 1 hour at 325ºF.

Personal Notes:

* honestly, I use finely chopped onion and garlic
** I also use this recipe to get rid of all of the almost empty bottles of BBQ sauce and other random condiments in my fridge. I've thrown anything in...like Worchester sauce, any of the random Chinese cooking sauces, any kind of BBQ sauce I want to finish. I just taste the sauce and add sugar or vinegar depending on what the concoction needs

I remember Mom saving the almost empty bottle of ketchup so she could rinse it with water to use in this recipe and get every last drop of ketchup out of the bottle.
