3 Tbsp butter
2 cloves minced garlic
1 cup finely chopped shallots or onion
2 cup finely chopped mushrooms (chop then measure)
1 tsp chopped fresh thyme (½ tsp dried)
Pinch of salt & pepper
½ cup white wine
½ cup finely ground roasted pecans
¼ cup soft butter or margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter in a sauté pan over medium heat.
Add garlic & shallots and sauté for a few minutes until shallots soften but do not brown.
Add mushrooms, thyme, salt & pepper, then cook until the mushrooms have shrunken and a just beginning to brown.
Add white wine and reduce until the liquid is practically cooked off.
Let the mushrooms cool, add to food processor with the ground toasted pecans.
Process for a few minutes until completely smooth. Pulse in the butter until combined and smooth.
Transfer pate to a serving dish, cover with plastic wrap and chill for a couple hours before serving.
