Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 chocolate layer cake mix ( Betty Crocker, Duncan Heinz or Gluten Free)
water, oil, eggs according to the pkg. directions

2 pkg. instant chocolate pudding - 4 serving size
3 1/2 cups milk

whipping cream - approx. 1 1/2 cup to 2 cup
sugar to sweeten and 1 tsp vanilla

2 Crispy Crunch chocolate bars broken into smaller pieces

Directions:
Directions:
Make cake mix according to directions on the pkg. and bake in 2 8" or 9' pans.
This can be done a day ahead of when you are making the dessert.

Chill a bowl and beaters to whip the cream, beat until stiff & sweeten to taste add 1 tsp vanilla. Set aside in fridge.

Make instant pudding with slightly less milk than called for on pkg.

In a large serving bowl - preferably glass, so you can see finished dessert, put a layer of the cubed cake, about 1/3.
Top with a layer of pudding, then whipped cream and sprinkle with broken chocolate bar. Repeat for 2 more layers, saving ample chocolate bar for top.
This is trifle, so can be assembled however you like.
Refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours before serving. I prefer to serve the same day as I put it all together. Leftovers will keep for a day or 2 in fridge.

Number Of Servings:

Preparation Time:

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Recipe is easily cut in half - just use 1 layer of cake and adjust using 1 pudding mix etc

GLUTEN FREE OPTION: Use a gluten free cake mix and check other ingredients to ensure that they adapt.

This is a large dessert for a potluck or family function.

I have used fat free pudding mixes to cut the amount of calories.

If you want a vanilla trifle use a white cake mix and vanilla pudding.
I would omit the chocolate bar and decorate top with fresh fruit - maybe strawberries, raspberries or blueberries.
