Ingredients:
Ingredients:
2 cups flour
1/3 cup sugar, plus 1 teaspoon for sprinkling
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup unsalted butter, frozen
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/2 cup sour cream
1 large egg

Directions:
Directions:
Position rack in middle or lower third of oven and preheat to 400º.

Mix together flour, 1/3 cup sugar, the baking powder, salt, and baking soda in a bowl. Using large holes on a box grater, grate butter into flour mixture. Work in butter with your fingers. The mixture should resemble course meal. Stir in the dried cranberries.

Whisk together sour cream and egg in a small bowl until smooth. Stir sour cream mixture into flour mixture with a fork until large dough clumps form. Press dough into a ball with your hands. Dough will be sticky in places and may seem too dry at first. As you press, the dough will come together.

Transfer to a lightly floured surface and pat into a 7-to-8 inch circle about 3/4 inch thick. Sprinkle with remaining 1 teaspoon sugar. Cut into 8 triangles; arrange scones about 1 inch apart on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet.

Bake until golden, 15-17 minutes. Let cool 5 minutes.
