4 c all-purpose
1/2 c sugar
1 1/4 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 c butter, cold
1/3 c bacon grease, chilled
1 egg
1 c milk
1/2 c canned pumpkin
3 tbsp maple syrup
1/4 tsp maple extract
3/4 c cooked and crumbled bacon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400ºF. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
Cut in the cold butter (grated) and the bacon grease (broken into small pieces).
Make a well in the center.
In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, milk, pumpkin, syrup, and extract.
Stir into dry mixture with a fork, adding the crumbled bacon about half-way through.
Using a large cookie scoop, scoop the batter onto the baking sheet. It is fine if they are close together.
Bake until outside edges are beginning to brown and tops spring back when lightly pressed, 15-18 minutes.
Immediately brush with maple butter mixture.

1/4 c butter, very soft
2 - 3 tsp salt


Directions:

Whisk all ingredients together in a small bowl.
Brush generously over warm biscuits.
Serve immediately or store in the fridge until ready to serve (reheat first for better flavor and texture).
