5 cups all purpose flour
2 heaping Tbs sugar
2 3/4 tsp baking baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 1/2 cup (3 sticks) butter
2 cups buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
• Set over to 425
• Mix all dry goods evenly
• Shred butter with cheese grater or cut into small squares - mix evenly into dry good mix
• Pour and blend buttermilk into mix - your hands work best and don’t overwork. Dough should pull away from sides but still be wet and sticky
• Roll dough out onto lightly floured surface 3/4 inch thick
• Cut biscuits into 2-3 inch circles with cutter or drinking glass - can lid from canning jars works excellently.
• Place on lightly greased baking sheet and cook for 8-12 minutes depending on the biscuit size until golden brown out outside
• can brush on melted butter before or after biscuits are baked.
• Serve warm with gravy, butter or jams.
