6 c. whole milk
1-3/4 c. sugar
5 eggs, beaten
1 qt. (4 cups) 1/2 and 1/2
4 T. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine 6 c. milk and the sugar. Mix well. Cook, to a simmer and simmer for 5 minutes.
Add 2 c. hot milk to the beaten eggs. Then add remaining hot milk, and continue to stir. Cook on low until egg mixture shows done (spoon becomes coated when dipped in milk/egg mixture). Cool. Put in ice cream freezer can with 1 quart of half and half. Add 4 T. vanilla.
