1 can red pie cherries (NOT prepared pie filling)
1 C sugar
2 egg yolks
approx. 2 Tbsp corn starch
3-4 Tbsp water
1 baked pie shell.

Directions:
Directions:
Empty contents of can of cherries into a sauce pan. Mix 1 C. sugar with the beaten egg yolks. Slowly add to cherries while stirring. Add a pinch of salt. In a small bowl, dissolve corn starch in the water and add slowly to the hot cherry mixture.(you may not need the whole amount). Pour into the baked pie shell. Top with meringue or cool whip
