1 2-6 Bone Prime Rib Roast
3 Tbsp Olive Oil
3-4 Cloves Garlic, minced

Rub:
1 Tbsp Dried Thyme
1 Tbsp Dried Rosemary
1 Tbsp Black Pepper
1 Tbsp Onion Powder
1 Tbsp Garlic Powder
3 Tbsp Kosher Salt

Directions:

Remove Prime Rib from refrigerator 4 hours before cooking.

Cut 1/2-inch slits on the top of the roast and insert garlic. Rub the outside of the roast with olive oil. Combine rub ingredients and spread evenly over roast. Let rest until oven heats fully.

Heat oven to 500 degrees. Transfer roast to roasting pan.

Calculate cook time by allowing 5 minutes per pound.

After time is up, turn off oven and leave the oven closed for 2 hours.

Remove roast and let rest for an additional 10 minutes before carving.
