2 C cake flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 C shortening
1 C sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
3/4 C milk
Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º.
Beat together egg, sugar & shortening
Gradually add in milk & flour & mix well.
Add in vanilla & mix well.
Pour batter into 2 greased pans (8" or 9").
Bake 30-35 mins, or until done.

* you can substitute self- rising flour, but leave out the baking powder & salt)

* You can use 1/2 stick margarine or butter instead of shortening
