1 lb hamburger
2 t garlic powder
2 t cumin
3 t paprika
1 T minced onion
1 tsp oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
1 can tomato sauce
1 can water
¼ c ketchup
Directions:
Directions:
Brown hamburger in enough water to cover botton of pan.
Break up meat as it cooks and add remaining ingredients.
Simmer for 1 hour.

What would a cookbook by Grandma be without some reference to hot dogs - a staple for her. And it became a summer event to try as many hot dog stands as we could in search of the best Spanish hot dog. She did find some favorites. She was very sorry to see the stand in Silver Lake close as they would offer a special price one day a week - she would go up there weekly to get her sack of hot dogs to share.
