3 Tb. butter
3/4 c. sugar, divided
3 Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and quartered
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
In a heavy sauté pan, heat butter and all but 1 Tb. of the sugar. Add apple slices and vanilla. Sauté over medium-high heat until sugar has caramelized to dark brown and apples are cooked.

Place apples on a serving plate. Pour caramelized syrup over them. Sprinkle remaining sugar on top.
