2 c. scaled milk
3 egg yolks
1/4 c. sugar
Few grains salt
1/2 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Scald milk. Beat eggs slightly, add sugar and salt. Sir milk in gradually. Place in double boiler, stirring constantly until mixture thickens and coats spoon. Cool and add vanilla. If custard separates or becomes lumpy, put pan in cold water once and beat with rotary beater until smooth again. This is a thin custard. If thicker custard is desired, add 2 Tablespoons cornstarch dissolved in a little cold milk. It is also permissible to add 2 eggs.
