¾ C. Sugar
⅓ Flour or 3 T. Cornstarch
¼ t. Salt
2 C. Milk
3 Slightly beaten egg yolks
2 T. Butter
1 t. Vanilla
3 Bananas sliced
1 9” baked pastry shell

Directions:
Directions:
In saucepan, combine sugar flour, salt; gradually stir in milk. Cook & stir over medium heat till bubbly. Then Cook & stir 2 min. Remove from heat,
Stir small amount of hot liquid into yolks; immediately return to hot mixture; cook 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add butter & vanilla. Add sliced bananas to cooked pie shell. Pour mixture over bananas into cooled baked pastry shell.
If you prefer Meringue; spread atop pie and bake @ 350º for 12 to 15 min. Cool

I prefer whipped cream to be added at the time of serving.
Before cooling pie add wax paper to top of pie to avoid skin on top of mixture.
