1 9-inch baked pie shell
2 pints fresh strawberries
3/4 c. sugar plus 2 tbsp., divided
1/3 tsp. salt
1-1/2 tbsp. cornstarch
2 tbsp. lemon juice
8 oz. cream cheese, softened
1/2 c. milk
1-1/2 tbsp. cold water

Bake pastry shell and cool to room temp. Wash, hull, drain and slice enough berries to measure 1 c. In a medium saucepan stir together the 3/4 c. sugar, salt and cornstarch. Blend in the 1-1/2 tbsp. cold water. Add berries and cook until sauce thickens and clears. Remove from heat and add lemon juice. In a medium bowl blend cream cheese with 2 tbsp. sugar. Very gradually whisk in 1/2 c. milk. Pour cheese mixture into pastry shell. Spoon half the cooled glaze over cream cheese. Arrange remaining whole berries over glaze and cream cheese and spoon remaining glaze over all. Chill before serving.
