3 Tbsp unsalted butter
1 tsp onion, finely diced (or flakes)
1 bell pepper, finely diced
1 can carrots, drained & cut into desired size
2 Tbsp garlic paste
1 1/2 tsp oregano
1 Tbsp salt
6 oz tomato paste
2 lb ground beef
1 C vegetable or beef broth
3 Tbsp Worcestershire
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
3 C mashed potatoes, prepared & mix in 1 C shredded cheese
1/3 C shredded cheese (I prefer Parmesan)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375º.
Add oil to skillet & sauté bell pepper & onion (or flakes).
Add beef, cook & drain.
Add carrots, salt, pepper, garlic & oregano.
Add in tomato paste & cook for a few minutes (don't scorch).
Add in Worcestershire & broth. Mix well.
Place in greased casserole dish.
Top with prepared mashed potatoes. Cover with shredded cheese.
Bake 45 minutes, or until bubbly & potatoes are browned.

*If using ground beef this is known as cottage pie, but if you use ground lamb it is known as shepherd's pie.
