⅓ c. butter
1-⅓ c. sugar
2 eggs
1-⅓ c. mashed cooked winter squash (or canned pumpkin)
1¾ c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
½ tsp. nutmeg
½ tsp. ground ginger
¼ tsp. ground cloves
½ c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs, then squash/pumpkin. Sift together remaining ingredients, reserving nuts. Stir dry ingredients into squash mixture; add nuts. Butter a loaf pan and pour in the batter. Let rest for 15 minutes. Bake for 1 hour or until a skewer in the center comes out clean. Keep bread in pan for 10 minutes before turning out.
