1/2 lb. diced bacon
1/2 lb. lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
2 T. granulated sugar
1/3 c. packed brown sugar
1/4 c. ketchup
1/4 c. barbecue sauce
2 T. prepared mustard
2 T. molasses
1/2 t. salt
1/2 t. pepper
1 (16-oz) can kidney beans (lightly drained)
1 (16-oz) can butter beans (drained)
1 (28-oz) can baked beans (slightly drained)
(I prefer Bush, Finish, MM beans, or another
brand with a thick sauce)

Saute bacon until crisp. Add ground beef and chopped onion, and cook until meat loses its red color. Drain off fat. Mix together the sugars, ketchup, barbecue sauce, mustard, molasses, chili powder, salt and pepper. Add to first mixture along with the slightly drained beans. Place in large casserole. Bake covered at 350 degrees until bubbly, then uncover and continue to bake about one hour. Stir once or twice.
NOTE: I always double the recipe, except for the onion.

This recipe has always been a favorite. Went very well with Uncle Roger's famous BBQ Ribs. Can make ahead and freeze, then thaw before baking.
