Ingredients:
Ingredients:
6 Egg YOLKS
1 Tablespoon butter, melted
1/8 teaspoon salt
6 Tablespoons cream
6 Tablespoons sugar
1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
2 Cups flour - may need more to roll

Lard or peanut oil might work, just don't know about the lack of flavor

Directions:
Directions:
Beat egg YOLKS until light in color. Add sugar and beat until well combined

Add melted butter, salt, cream, cardamom and mix well

Slowly add flour a little at a time and stir by hand

Roll out very thin (I have a special rolling pin) and cut into diamond shapes

Make a slit in the middle of each cookie

Heat lard (ha) - probably a high burning oil would work - to 370 degrees

Drop 2-3 cookies into lard and fry for 1-2 minutes until lightly browned, turn over as soon as they rise to the top

Remove and set on paper towels to drain and dust with powdered sugar -continued

Personal Notes:
Don't imagine you will ever make these, I haven't since I left home, but you never know

They are VERY DELICATE and break easily so only single layer when stored
