2 tbsp. butter
2 squares unsweetened chocolate
3 cups sugar
¼ cup honey or light Karo syrup
⅛ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 cup milk
1 cup walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter and chocolate in milk. Beat to blend. Add sugar, honey and salt. Bring to a boil, cover and boil 2 minutes. Uncover to cool. Do Not Stir! until small amount forms a soft ball (238º). Remove from heat and add vinegar. Let stand until lukewarm. Then add vanilla and beat with a wooden spoon until it loses it's gloss. Add nuts and turn onto buttered plate. Let cool until cool enough to handle. Knead with hands. Shape into two rolls. Wrap in waxed paper and store in cool place until ready to serve. Slice.

I found this recipe in Mom's collection. Kate Tremer was my aunt Lois's mother. She was also a teacher. When she would come to visit we did fun crafts like making paper decorations and snow flakes.
