1 tbsp. Cornstarch
6 tbsp. White Satin Sugar
½ cup Water
3 Egg Whites
Few grains of Salt

Directions:
Directions:
Mix cornstarch, sugar, water and salt and cook until thick and clear. Cool slightly. Beat egg whites until frothy. Continue beating while slowly pouring cooked mixture over, and continue beating 5 minutes. Cover cooled filling in pie shell with meringue sealing edges to crust.

Bake at 450º for 5-7 minutes until golden.

I was often ask why my meringue did not weep. I used this recipe all the time when I was a baker at the Alcove Restaurant in Mount Vernon, Ohio. The Recipe was printed on the bag of a sugar bag sometime in the 1970's.
