Ingredients:
Ingredients:
⅓ cup granulated sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
½ cup Crisco (white in the can)
6 tablespoons butter softened
1 egg
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
¼ teaspoon almond extract
2 cups flour
Sprinkles, jimmies
Parchment paper

Buttercream or chocolate icing, recipe in this book

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Make sure rack is almost to the top of the oven. Line baking sheet with parchment paper, this is not required , but seems to help. Beat the sugar, Crisco and butter until fluffy. Add egg and extracts(vanilla, almond) and beat until thick. STIR in the flour until a dough forms, it may have chunks. Form the dough into balls. I use a small cookie scoop. Or it says 1 tablespoon of dough. Dip the top and sides of the cookie into the sprinkles. Try not to get them on the bottom, they will burn. Place on cookie sheet and press your thumb into the center of the cookie. Chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes. Don't skip this step! Bake cookies for 15 minutes or until the bottoms start to turn light brown. Move to a wire rack to cool. Ice with buttercream and top with a few sprinkles or nuts. If you use chocolate sprinkles, try these with chocolate icing.
