16 oz fresh strawberries
1/2 C water
3/4 C granulated sugar
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp vanilla
1 Tbl butter

Directions:
Directions:
1. Wash strawberries and remove hull. Place in a blender and puree until smooth.

2. Add strawberry puree, sugar, vanilla and lemon juice to a saucepan. Stir until well mixed. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.

3. Continue to simmer, stirring occasionally, until the syrup thickens and coats the back of a spoon, about 10 minutes.

4. Remove from heat and stir in the butter until melted and well blended.

5. Cool syrup before pouring into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator or freezer.
