1-3 lb pork roast
2 T Grill Mates pork rub (or any other brand)
2 C root beer
1 small onion, cubed
2 cloves garlic, chopped
2 t liquid smoke
1 18oz bottle of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce or your favorite BBQ sauce

Directions:
Directions:
Trim excess fat from pork roast, then rinse with water and pat dry with a paper towel. Rub all over with pork rub making sure to cover the whole roast. Heat a large skilled over medium high heat. Get the pan nice and hot and then add roast. Sear on all sides. Remove from the pan and add to crock pot. Add onion, garlic,1 t of the liquid smoke and 1 C of root beer. Cover the crock pot and cook on low for 5-6 hours.
When done, remove the roast from the crock pot and discard liquid and onions. Let roast cool and then shred into pieces using two forks. Return the shredded meat to the crock pot. Add the remaining cup of root beer, bbq sauce and remaining teaspoon of liquid smoke and stir to combine. Cook the shredded meat an additional hour on low. Serve on hamburger or slider buns.
