Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
1/4 c graham crumbs
1/3 c brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tbsp baking powder
6 tbsp butter, cold
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 c buttermilk

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Whisk together dry ingredients.
Grate the cold butter into the dry ingredients and cut in until mixture is evenly crumbly.
Whisk together the egg, vanilla, and buttermilk then stir into crumbly mixture with a fork, just until flour is fully incorporated.
Pat into round disks, about 4 inches across and 1.5 inches high, then cut with a floured pizza cutter or knife into wedges. Bake until outside is dry to the touch but inside is still slightly soft, 12-16 minutes. Wedges should break away from each other when you slightly pull them at the top.
Cool slightly and serve with apple pie filling and whipped cream or marshmallow cream and nutella as a brunch dessert.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I made this recipe to serve with "Apple Pie Shortcakes with Blackberry Sauce, Salted Caramel Sauce, and Marshmallow Buttercream" for Farm to Table in Downtown Oroville, October 2022. I got to walk my assembled sample dessert into a restaurant downtown and have the owner (who was organizing the event) sit down across the table from me and critique my suggested dessert for the event. Their head chef even came out and tried it, and asked how I made the chocolate leaf garnishes! This was both an intimidating and encouraging experience for me!
