1 1/2 cup egg whites
1 t. cream of tartar
1 t. vanilla
1/2 t. almond flavoring
1 1/4 cup sifted cake flour
1 3/4 cup sugar
1/2 t. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat whites until frothy. Add cream of tartar. Continure beating until peaks form but not dry. Add flavorings. Sift flour, sugar and salt together 9 times.
Fold in dry ingredients gently a little at a time. Pour into tube pan.
Bake in 325* oven for 1 hour or until cake springs back when touched with a finger. Remove from oven, turn upside donw and allow to cool.
Cut from pan and frost with fluffly frosting.

For cherry angel food cake add chopped maraschino cherries to the folding in process.
