Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 - 2 cloves garlic minced (to taste)
2 - 3 teaspoons gluten free soy sauce
1/4 cup liquid honey
1 orange zested into thin strips
4 tablespoons orange juice (juice of one orange)
1/2 teaspoon finely crushed red pepper flakes (to taste) or use Sriracha
1 pound raw shrimp 18-20 count peeled and deveined
1/2 cup cornstarch (just enough to coat shrimp)
1/2 cup canola oil
green onions for garnish (optional)
sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Add the garlic, soy sauce, honey, orange zest, orange juice and crushed red pepper flakes(or sriracha sauce) to a small bowl and whisk until combined.
Add the shrimp to the cornstarch and coat well.I shake it in a baggie
Heat your oil in a large frying pan over medium high heat.
In batches, cook the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until brown and crisp.
Drain onto a plate or metal cooling rack (don't use paper towels or the shrimp will steam and lose its crispiness).
When you've finished frying the shrimp drain and discard the oil.
Add the sauce into the pan and add the shrimp on top.
Toss to combine and cook for 15-20 seconds or until the sauce has thickened slightly (this will not take long, all the cornstarch on the shrimp will thicken it quickly).
Serve immediately over rice or riced cauliflower garnished with green onions and sesame seeds.
Good with a green salad on the side

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
Makes 2 generous or 3 smaller servings depending on the amount of shrimp
If you don't have a zester remove the peel from the orange with a peeler and cut into strips. You just want the orange part .I pan fried the peel in the hot oil before cooking the shrimp to lightly char it. Then added it to the sauce.
Cornstarch can be with salt and pepper.
Depending on the size of the garlic cloves this is fairly intense garlic flavour .
I just used a couple pinches of red pepper flakes which gives a nice background taste of pepper. Original recipe is fairly spicy.
Original recipe suggest adding hot steamed carrots to the sauce when you add the shrimp.
Rather than heating the shrimp in the sauce you can just use it for a warm dipping sauce. In that case make the sauce first and thicken it with just a little corn starch. Then cook the shrimp immediately before serving. Or you can just drissel the warm sauce on the shrimp just before serving.
Can use chicken or pork instead of shrimp. Just cut it into stripes
