2 cups all purpose flour
3 Tbs sugar
2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup butter
1/2 sour cream
1 egg slightly beaten
2/3 cup raisins or dried cranberries
2 tsp milk
1 Tbs sugar

Strawberry butter:

1/2 cup butter
2 1/2 Tbs strawberry preserves

Directions:
Directions:
Combine first 5 ingredients in medium bowl, mix well. Cut in butter with pastry blender or fork until moisture resembles coarse meal.
Add sour cream and egg, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened.*
Stir in raisins if desired.

Turn dough out onto lightly floured surface, and knead lightly 4 or 5 times. Pat dough to 8 inch circle on greased baking sheet. Brush top with milk, sprinkle with 1 Tbs sugar. Cut circle into 8 wedges, using sharp knife; separate wedges slightly.
Bake at 400F for 14-16 minutes or until lightly browned.
Serve warm with strawberry butter.

Cream butter, stir in preserves. Transfer to small serving bowl. Yield 1/2 cup
