Grandma's Banana Bread Recipe

1½ c. mashed ripe bananas (4 to 6)
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
¾ c. butter
1½ c. sugar
2 c. all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
½ c. buttermilk
½ c. chopped pecans or walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, sugar and vanilla until smooth. Add in the bananas and eggs and blend well. Sift together the flour and baking soda and add alternately with the buttermilk. Fold in the chopped pecans or walnuts. Pour into a greased loaf pan and bake at 350º for 35 minutes or until golden brown on top.

This was my Mom's recipe and the only Banana bread recipe we use! Its enjoyed best straight from the oven as we usually cannot wait for it to cool!
