2¼ c. flour
½ tsp salt
1c. butter (or half shortening)
½ c sugar
1 egg
1 tsp almond extract
1 tsp vanilla extract

Sift four, measure, add salt and stir well. Cream butter, slowly add sugar, beat until light. Add egg, extracts and blend. Force through cookie press on greased baking sheet. (If dough is too soft to shape, refrigerate (about 30-45 minutes). Bake 400º for 6-8 minutes or until edges lightly brown. If desired sprinkle with candy sprinkles before baking.
This recipe was used a lot in Idaho with the little Stevensons at Nana's house.
