1 onion sliced
2 tbsp butter
2 slices rye bread
Softened butter
2 slices swiss cheese
1/4 lb. hamburger
Salt
Pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Carmelize the onions by melting 2 tbsp butter and adding the onions. Stir constantly until the onions are soft and brown but not crispy. They should be wilty.
Mix the hamburger with a sprinkling of salt and pepper. Form a patty into the shape and approximate size of the rye bread.
Place the burger in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook to desired doneness turning only once. Remove from pan.
Spread butter on 1 side of each slice of bread. Place 1 slice of rye butter side down in a clean frying pan over medium low heat.
Place swiss cheese slices and then the other slice of rye butter side up. Cook like a grilled cheese.
Remove from the pan and separate the 2 pieces of bread. It should be very gooey inside.
Place the burger and carmelized onions on 1/2 of the grilled cheese. Put the other slice of rye on top.
Cut in 1/2.
