Bread Pudding Recipe

2 c milk
4 T butter

4 cups bread cubes (from 6-8 slices bread)
½ c sugar
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 eggs, slightly beaten
½ cup raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Heat milk in microwave till it's hot but not boiling. Remove and add butter. Let cool.

Put bread cubes into a bowl. Pour on the milk mixture and stir so bread is moistened. Add the remaining ingredients and stir well. Let sit while oven is preheating.

Preheat oven to 350º. Butter an 8 or 9 inch pan.

When oven is hot, stir everything again and pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Bake at 350º for about 40 min or till a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. (It will be puffed in the center, but will subside as it cools.)

Serve warm or cool.

As kids we wouldn't eat the bread heels, so Mom put them in the freezer to save for bread pudding. I don't usually have stale bread in the freezer, but fresh bread works just as well.
