1 1/2 lb chicken thighs bone in skin on
1 medium yellow onion chopped
2 cloves garlic minced
1 14 oz can diced tomatoes, drained
2 T sweet Hungarian paprika
1 c chicken broth ( Aneto brand?)
3/4 t sea salt
1/4 t ground black pepper
1 1/2 T flour
1/2 c sour cream
1 T cream (optional)

Serve with egg noodles

1. Bag up chicken
2. Bag onions, drained tomatoes and garlic
4. Bag paprika, salt and pepper in a snack size baggie
4. Bag chicken broth
6. Bag sour cream, cream (optional) and flour in a snack size baggie


Thaw in the fridge.
Quickly brown chicken in vegetable oil 1 - 2 min. each side. Set aside.
In the same oil brown: onions, tomatoes and garlic. Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the paprika ,salt and pepper. (paprika can be bitter if scorched) Return the chicken to the pot; add broth. The chicken should be mostly covered. Bring it to a boil. Cover and reduce the heat to med/low and simmer for 30 min. Wisk in the Sour cream mixture. Serve over egg noodles

We discovered this traditional Hungarian dish in Budapest on a trip down the Danube. I thought it would work perfect as a freezer dish. It is usually served with potato dumplings but I think they are too heavy.
