Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1 small can crushed pineapple
1 small box raspberry jello
Lots of chopped fruit
(I use the following:
Apples, oranges, bananas, frozen peaches, pears, grapes)
1 c chopped nuts
Whipped cream for topping

Directions:
Directions:
Boil crushed pineapple for 3 min. Add raspberry jello and boil 3 minutes more. Set off to cool. Chop fruit into a bowl and add nuts. Next part is a bit tricky… add about 1/4 c cold water to cooled jello mixture then add to fruit. Jello mixture should just touch the top of fruit…push the fruit down till the jello mixture reaches the top…mix a little water at a time until you get the jello mixture to peak through the top.
Serve with whipped cream.

Personal Notes:
I really don’t know how daddy made this salad but this is my take on it. Daddy always use hickory nuts that we picked up at the Big Oak state park and cracked and picked out on the kitchen floor before Christmas. Love to make this red salad and the green Lime Jello Cottage Cheese salad at Christmas.
