2 sticks butter
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups cake flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
scant 1/2 cup cocoa
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/4 cup milk
1 Tablespoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and shortening. Add sugar. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
Sift flour, baking powder, cocoa and salt. Add ingredients alternately with milk. Add vanilla before last flour. Bake in greased and floured tube pan for 1 hour 10 minutes. 325 degrees.

Sift cake flour once before measuring.(use your sifted flour to make a cup). Then sift dry ingredients together. Let butter and eggs be at room temperature. Never cook over 1 hour 10 minutes.

Try 3rd from the bottom shelf rack.
