Put cake pan 1/2 full of water in oven and heat until 350º.

Custard - Put in blender
1 1/2 c. Milk
3 Eggs (medium sized)
1/2 c. Sugar
1 scant t. Vanilla
Pinch of salt.

Mix in blender and pour into bowl or casserole dish. Add a couple shakes of cinnamon (scant) or nutmeg if desired. Put in saucepan and heat until sides of the pan are hot do not boil. Sit in pan of water in the oven. Bake until when you put a knife in it will come out clean- probably 20-30 minutes.

After I finished the first edition of the family cookbook and sent it to Grandma, she sent me this recipe. She felt it was important to have in the cookbook. As always it is impossible to separate Grandma's recipe from the directions.
