Ingredients: 1 T. plus 1 cup butter (softened, divided) 1½ cups coarsely chopped pecans, toasted 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 2 cups packed brown sugar 1 cu light corn syrup ¼ cup water 1 (14 oz.) can sweetened condensed milk 2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:Line a 13x9x2-inch pan with foil or parchment paper. If using foil butter the foil with 1 tablespoon of butter. Sprinkle with pecans and chocolate chips. Set aside. In a heavy saucepan over medium heat, melt the remaining butter. Add the brown sugar, corn syrup and water. Cook and stir until mixture comes to a boil. Stir in the milk. Cook, stirring constantly, until a candy thermometer reads 248º (firm stage). Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Pour into the prepared pan (DO NOT SCRAPE SAUCEPAN). Cool completely before cutting. |

Notes: This is made like a pan of upside-down bars, you remove the candy from the pan after cooling. Peel off the foil or parchment paper and cut. The pecans and chips will be on top.
